So today I was out snapping pics. I got such a surprise that I actually felt like I was in pure ecstatic bliss for at least 10 minutes.
For these 10 minutes nothing else existed but the beautiful reality I was experiencing.
I was snapping pics of the river while standing on a bridge when all of a sudden I saw this brown body come out of the water and then dart back in.
I thought to myself,"what the heck was that?"
So of course I got as close as I could and stared into the water with expectation.
That is when I saw them- 2 otters!
I love otters!
I tried to snap pics of them playing in the water but they were so fast.
This is the best one I got.
It is blurry and not great quality but if you look close you can see the little cutie was staring right at me.

Black Author wins The Matrix Copyright Infringement Case

This little known story has met a just conclusion, as Sophia Stewart, African American author of The Matrix will finally receive her just due from the copyright infringement of her original work!!!

A six-year dispute has ended involving Sophia Stewart, the Wachowski Brothers, Joel Silver and Warner Brothers. Stewart’s allegations, involving copyright infringement and racketeering, were received and acknowledged by the Central District of California, Judge Margaret Morrow presiding.

Stewart, a New Yorker who has resided in Salt Lake City for the past five years, will recover damages from the films, The Matrix I, II and III, as well as The Terminator and its sequels. She will soon receive one of the biggest payoffs in the history of Hollywood , as the gross receipts of both films and their sequels total over 2.5 billion dollars.

Stewart filed her case in 1999, after viewing the Matrix, which she felt had been based on her manuscript, ‘The Third Eye,’ copyrighted in 1981. In the mid-eighties Stewart had submitted her manuscript to an ad placed by the Wachowski Brothers, requesting new sci-fi works..

According to court documentation, a FBI investigation discovered that more than thirty minutes had been edited from the original film, in an attempt to avoid penalties for copyright infringement. The investigation also stated that ‘credible witnesses employed at Warner Brothers came forward, claiming that the executives and lawyers had full knowledge that the work in question did not belong to the Wachowski Brothers.’ These witnesses claimed to have seen Stewart’s original work and that it had been ‘often used during preparation of the motion pictures.’ The defendants tried, on several occasions, to have Stewart’s case dismissed, without success.

Stewart has confronted skepticism on all sides, much of which comes from Matrix fans, who are strangely loyal to the Wachowski Brothers. One on-line forum, entitled Matrix Explained has an entire section devoted to Stewart. Some who have researched her history and writings are open to her story.

Others are suspicious and mocking. ‘It doesn’t bother me,’ said Stewart in a phone interview last week, ‘I always knew what was true.’

Some fans, are unaware of the case or they question its legitimacy, due to the fact that it has received little to no media coverage. Though the case was not made public until October of 2003, Stewart has her own explanation, as quoted at aghettotymz.com:

‘The reason you have not seen any of this in the media is because Warner Brothers parent company is AOL-Time Warner…. this GIANT owns 95 percent of the media… let me give you a clue as to what they own in the media business… New York Times papers/magazines, LA Times papers/magazines, People Magazine, CNN news, Extra, Celebrity Justice, Entertainment Tonight, HBO, New Line Cinema, DreamWorks, Newsweek, Village Roadshow and many, many more! They are not going to report on themselves. They have been suppressing my case for years.’

Fans who have taken Stewart’s allegations seriously, have found eerie mythological parallels, which seem significant in a case that revolves around the highly metaphorical and symbolic Matrix series. Sophia, the Greek goddess of wisdom has been referenced many times in speculation about Stewart. In one book about the Goddess Sophia, it reads, ‘The black goddess is the mistress of web creation spun in her divine matrix.’

Although there have been outside implications as to racial injustice (Stewart is African American), she does not feel that this is the case. ‘This is all about the Benjamins,’ said Stewart. ‘It’s not about money with me. It’s about justice.’

Stewart’s future plans involve a record label, entitled Popsilk Records, and a motion picture production company, All Eyez On Me, in reference to God. ‘I wrote The Third Eye to wake people up, to remind them why God put them here. There’s more to life than money,’ said Stewart. ‘My whole to the world is about God and good and about choice, about spirituality over ‘technocracy’.’

If Stewart represents spirituality, then she truly has prevailed over the ‘technocracy’ represented in both the Terminator and the Matrix, and now, ironically, by their supposed creators.

Stewart is having discussions with CBS about a possible exclusive story and has several media engagements in the near future to nationally publicize her victory. June 13th 2004. Sophia Stewart’s press release read: ‘The Matrix & Terminator movie franchises have made world history and have ultimately changed the way people view movies and how Hollywood does business, yet the real truth about the creator and creation of these films continue to elude the masses because the hidden secret of the matter is that these films were created and written by a Black woman…a Black woman named Sophia Stewart. But Hollywood does not want you to know this fact simply because it would change history. Also it would encourage our Black children to realize a dream and that is…nothing is impossible for them to achieve!’

Pain

Ok my previous post was a video that was supposed to be motivational yet I found it sexy because I love to see men who push themselves past their limits mentally, physically and spiritually.

Today It Is Time To Claim My Healing

Today I realized that I just don't want to express myself or share what I have learned to others through words, writing or blogging anymore.
Truthfully I really feel no need at all to express myself to anyone anymore.  This has been going on for awhile now but I have continued to do it merely out of habit.
I guess somewhere along the line the part of me that is eager to express myself to anyone that will listen has been healed.
Now I find joy in expressing myself to myself because I am the only one who really understands most of the time anyways.

Fall Cleanout

I did clean out my closet today and got rid of 2 huge lawn bags worth of clothes.  It amazed me at how many clothes I had that I truly hate and do not feel good wearing.
Why would anyone need so many clothes in their closet especially when I don't even wear them anymore.  Ridiculous!
So I have told myself from this point on that if it doesn't make me smile and feel good while wearing it then I will absolutely not buy it!
There are a few more I could get rid of and probably will as I bring new ones in.  My goal though is to only have enough to fill the hanger space and I am almost down to that many :)
I feel it is better to have a few quality clothing that I adore rather than truckloads of cheap clothes I can't stand.

Veggie Rolls

Truthfully my homemade ones were not as good as the ones from my favorite restaurant.

Mine had an entirely different taste than what I am used to but were still quite tasty.

Fresh, healthy ingredients :)

Final product... A little too brown and saltier than what I prefer. Also I used bella mushroom instead of shitake but next time will not.

Also not sure why but the egg roll dough I bought at the store seems thicker than the ones in the restaurant.

I can make about 40 or 50 veggie rolls from the  product I bought and I only spent about $20.

I can freeze them and heat them up when I get a craving and can't get to my favorite Thai restaurant. 

Fall Cleanout

Also decided that because I have been so blessed to be able to get some new clothes then it is time to go into my closet and do the out with the old and in with the new just to keep the energy flowing.
I will probably give all of my old clothes to the local homeless shelter.
I used to give to Goodwill but has anyone else noticed how expensive there clothes etc are now? Everything used to be so cheap there but now you can still find some good deals but definitely not as cheap as they should be.

Saving Money Is Healing

Saving money is healing when I don't have a lot to start off with.  The stress of trying to keep enough money to keep myself afloat is unbearable, so anything I can do to lessen that stress heals me.
Yesterday I found a really nice turquoise ceramic skillet for a very good price.
Today I am excited to try making homemade spring rolls for the first time. I have became a little bit addicted to them over the past few weeks and $6 for only 4 of them is a little bit steep don't ya think?
So today I will make my spring rolls in my pretty, turquoise skillet :)  
I really should try learning how to make that sweet dipping sauce that comes with them at the restaurant but for now I just bought some already made sauce.
Perhaps I will post a pic later if they turn out right.

Just Now

I just now got the best surprise :)
Honeybees came to visit me in my apartment! 
I always try to do my best to take care of any honeybees that come my way but I had to shoo these out so they wouldn't get trapped in here and die.
When I lived in Kentucky I used to hang out with the wild honeybees that lived on our land.  They became so used to me that they would tell me when they wanted me to feed them! 
No joke if they were hungry you could guarantee that when I came outside a few of them would buzz around me chattering until I got them some food and took it to their favorite spot!
I became so used to them that I learned their language a bit.  They buzz differently when agitated or excited as opposed to when they are calm and content.
Also if they are not in the mood for your presence they have little ways of letting you know.
Not one time did one of my little honey babies sting me and sometimes they would show me their love by landing on me for awhile to get acquainted.
I miss them they were good to me.  We got each other through very rough times. Rough for me because of sickness and rough for them because of lack of food but they were so grateful to be taken care of that they kind of invited me in as family :)

Today was an out of the ordinary day for me.
Today I felt really special, valued and loved because someone close to me sent me an authentic coach purse and they filled it with girlie goodies like make-up, lotions etc.
It is absolutely adorable and I love it.
I have never had such an expensive purse before so it just makes me feel so loved!
